In 1958, the "Holy Land Mint, Israel coins and medals corp." was established. Not long after, they invited different Israeli artists to design medallions, creating a unique series for collectors. This medallion was made by Eliezer Weishoff, a well known Israeli artist, born in Jerusalem and a graduate of the Bezalel Academy of fine arts.
