In the Roman empire, owning vases of glass was common among nobility. Later in time, finding intact vases or plates made of Roman glass became a rarity. The real treasure in this piece is the signature on the silver component, supporting the Roman glass. This piece is made by a group of Yemenite jewelry craftsmen around the 1940’s, the decade of the establishment of the state of Israel.
