A medal designed by Marc Chagall for the Israeli government in 1979. Marc Chagall, one of the most known Jewish artists, has depicted in this medal Moses holding the Tablets, looking over the city of Jerusalem. The title "לאור הגויים" in Hebrew ("Light unto the nations"), is a term originated from the prophet Isaiah inspiring for a world where the light of God is represented in his people, leading spiritually and morally the entire world. The medals were created by the Israeli Government Company for coins (Sterling silver) and is a part of a limited edition.
