This is a fine example of a Navajo Squash Blossom necklace. In The Navajo nation, one of the most important Native American cultures, wealth was shown in the form of adornment such as this one. As a sign of cultural and social prestige, it was often made with precious metals and gemstones. This particular “blossom necklace” is made of real silver, corals and turquoise stones, and the beads are in the shape of pumpkins, representing rejuvenation. Originally bought with a pair of earrings also available on our site.
