The earrings were designed by Avi Soffer, an Israeli artist and silversmith also known for his longstanding advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community. Soffer formerly chaired the Israeli LGBTQ+ Association and initiated the “Yesh Im Mi Ledaber” (“Someone to Talk To”) support hotline. In 2023, he received the Honorary Citizen of Tel Aviv–Yafo award.
